Ever since I bought my first Burt's Bees lipbalm, I've been impressed with the moisturizing qualities of honey. But Burt's Bees products can turn out to be quite expensive, specially for a professional student like myself. I remember when I thought I lost my lip shine in cranberry (or was that raspberry?) in a moviehouse, I clambered down on all fours to look under my seat and even used my cellphone as a flashlight to peer under the other seats. After a few minutes of searching, I had to accept the fact that I had probably lost it forever and that I'd have to penny-pinch once again to buy another tube. The point here is that quality products made from honey may be just a little too prohibitive for the average Filipina who sadly cannot boast of having an hacienda to call as her very own.
Why are eyebrows so important to me? It's because by some twist of fate my eyebrows are shorter than the norm. Now if I were a high fashion model that would be okay because my look would be considered risque. But the truth is I'm in no way am I edgy. Hell to the no! I'm more a Chloe kind of girl. I've used every kind of eyebrow pencil on the planet but I always end up looking like a clown. God would have it that I tuned in to Oprah the other week where she was featuring this lady name Anastacia. Her purpose in life is to create beautiful eyebrows. And thank God for Oprah for introducing her to every homemaker tuned in that day.
Since I've been earning my own money again I've gone back to pampering myself:-) In my opinion, no self respecting 30 year old woman asks her husband for money to buy the new lash lengthening mascara or for a haircut at Ken De Salo (1,300 but worth every penny! Look for Louis Kee)
You can ask, but you have to deal with feeling like a ten year old girl again asking your dad for money. And a husband never understands why you have to buy eyeshadow every few weeks. They will never get it. It's like how I don't get my husband's need to buy the newest Nike shoe. What's up with that? They all look the same whereas my eyeshadow comes in the colors of the rainbow.
