I read about the Dan Kern method a few months back and was skeptical with the thought of smearing a thick layer benzoyl peroxide all over my face, or with benzoyl peroxide for that matter. I've been using benzoyl peroxide for years as a spot treatment and it didn't exactly lead to a flawless complexion. But desperate times (see how desperate I was after the jump) called for drastic action. So if thousands of people swore by the Regimen then that was as good a reason for me to try it out as well.

Every year, I come up with the usual ambitious list of resolutions, and every year I break my resolutions, making it essentially a list of frustrations and/or failures. However, old habits die hard and so I still found myself with a list of resolutions 2010, but none of that life changing, self improvement shtick anymore because I'm much wiser now and I  have finally acknowledge that you don't mess with perfection... :p

I was never a firm believer in product lines as I always saw it as some sort of insidious marketing ploy to trick the consumer to buying into an entire range of overrated products (i.e. "Use X soap with X-1 body scrub to expedite skin whitening, afterwards, slather on X-1.1 body lotion to keep skin radiant and rosy white all over"). You'd think that I'd be used to receiving stuff by now, but I swear it still gives me a thrill to see a package with my name on it :)

Growing up, I sought refuge with the thought that once I got past my turbulent teens, life would be infinitely easier. By then, or so I told myself, I would have my own house, go anywhere and everywhere in my own car and finally say goodbye to problematic teenage skin. Well guess what, I still live with my folks, soaring gas prices have made me think twice about going on a joyride and the oil slick has not left my face. But you know what, things are admittedly better now, mostly because of my two simple yet effective skin favorites.
