Getting Intimate with Avon

The first time I bought an Avon bra was through my nephew's then yaya who dabbled on the side as an Avon lady. I bought a non-wired light pink bra with floral edgings from the Missy line and fast-forward to several years later I still use it (yeah, my girls haven't progressed from the Missy line:p). Of course, the light pink has become a dirty white and the floral edges look nothing like flowers now, but still, the cups remain as soft as they were many, many years back.
Alright, enough chitchat and let's talk underwear.
Just in time for the festivities, Avon came up with their holiday collection of vibrant and jewel toned pieces of underwear with the themes: Royal Salute, Wonderland, Hollywood Glamour and Grand Jewels.
Mail Call!

You'd think that I'd be used to receiving stuff by now, but I swear it still gives me a thrill to see a package with my name on it :)
Spanx Me!

I am in a constant battle with the bulge whenever I wear my skinny jeans or wear form-fitting dress. Sometimes I have to lie down and suck my stomach in, just so I can zip up my pants. I refuse to buy the larger size, thinking all my hard work at the gym (2x a week, haha) and diet (no rice, just a plateful of ulam, LOL) will eventually pay off. But there are times when an outfit would look really great if I had no tummy bulge peeking out from just above my belt band. And that's why I'm so grateful for Spanx.

Intimate Talks with Olga and Warners (Contest alert! Win gift packs from Olga and Warners!)

Because underwear is generally hidden from the general populace, I used to think that that was a good enough reason not to "invest" in a good brand. So I bought those 2 for Php100 bras in tiangges and some dirt cheap panties as well, but apparently, they were cheap for a reason. The bras easily became deformed, giving the appearance of lumpy breasts and second (or third and fourth!) nipples, while the panties seemed to disintegrate with every wash. Lesson learned and from then on, I skipped the bargain centers when it came to undergarments. For those who are also averse to scrimping when it comes to underwear, rejoice because Crossings has brought in Olga and Warners for a more diverse selection, particularly for those who need it the most (read: gifted. Hi Tones!).
