Hey Tin Happy Holidays! So were you able to get a nice pair of winter boots? :) Anyway, I need your opinion about something. I really wanted to wear a maxi dress but I'm short right so what can you suggest? Thanks! - Cathy M.

Leyende Organics on QTV

Guess who was recently on TV!!! Way to go Neva :)

Bayo

I wandered into the Bayo outlet in Robinson's Galleria a few days ago and I had to double check where I was again because I could not quite believe that I was actually inside a Bayo store. I don't know if it's because I haven't gone to a mall in ages, but Bayo looks so different now! The candy colors and tailored (generic looking) blouses were gone and in their stead were comfortable dresses and flowing blouses. Goodbye run of the mill look and hello gorgeous! I bet the current collection was inspired by their present image model, KC Concepcion, because she wore similar outfits during the "From Paris to Pinas" television special on Channel 2. KC wore tunic blouses and dresses as well as layered blouses and long scarves. Definitely a far cry from the usual tight-fitting, stomach-baring ensembles that our young crowd seem to go for.

I Love You Jigs Mayuga Forever and Ever!

jigs-250-x-375.jpg

Going to product launches and events, I recently realized, is not just about the goodie bags (though that certainly plays a big part) or the food. Sometimes they can be learning experiences as well. This last event that I went to for Kikay Exchange, my friend Bambi and I were able to chat up celebrity makeup artist for L'Oreal Philippines Jigs Mayuga, who was a featured guest at the event. For me, it was already a treat to see a master in action, doing what he loved best. His roomy, white Pan-Am Marc Jacobs bag wasn't so bad either. It is definitely correct to say that Bambi and I are fans of his work. Bambi went to the same makeup school as Jigs did (Center for Aesthetic Studies, then called ICI Training Institute) and I buy local fashion magazines to see his work in print. I first heard about Jigs Mayuga through the TV show Out!, which was shown around three years ago. I said heard because I don't watch TV, let alone late-night TV, but that show generated enough buzz to actually be a top contender in the network where it was airing. Sad to say, the show had to be axed because even though people were steadily watching the show, advertisers weren't. No matter how good a show is, if the advertisers don't like it, it's not gonna be airing long. What a sad thing to happen, but it always happens. Always. Oh, well, life has to go on.
