My Hair Story
I've been growing my hair out these past few months and now that it's past the awkward stage, I can finally let it hang loose and feel all girly girl while flipping my hair (just in time for the summer heat:p). While long hair gives me quite a kick, I have to acknowledge that my hair routine has become a bit more complicated because I have to find products that can keep my limp hair soft and conditioned, without weighing it down in the process. So far these are the products that have consistently given me a good hair day.

I've been reading about Snoe's Hair Heroes in most of the blogs I follow, but my real hair hero is Human Nature's Natural Hair Mask.

I use this hair mask once a week and ideally, you're supposed to slather the mask on damp hair and leave it on for 30 minutes, but sometimes, when I'm pressed for time, all I have is 10 minutes, but it still does the job splendidly.
I picked this up for Php299 at Shopwise, probably the only supermarket I've seen that stocks up Human Nature products.

The only beef I have with Human Nature's Natural Hair Mask is that the jasmine scent is so strong and almost plastic-y. I'm already not fond of florals to begin with, so I just suffer through the floral overdose because this mask works like a dream.
To pump up my limp locks, I treat them to Styleshots Epic Volume shampoo and conditioner from Bed Head (Disclosure: Products provided by brand for review)

I was initially not convinced that a shampoo and conditioner combo could add volume to my hair, moreso when I saw that the shampoo had a thick, almost lotion-like consistency (thick shampoo = overly moisturizing = limp hair). But surprise, surprise, my hair did end up with banging body after. These tubes don't lie.

Aside from bringing life to my otherwise blah hair, Epic Volume smells just like Fruittella strawberry, making my hair smell insanely amazing.

The only hitch is that these hair products can get pretty pricey (probably retailing for a little under Php2,000 each) and can only be found in select salons. Thus to make them last forever, I only use them 2x a week and have banned the hubby from using them.
Once a week, to prevent product build-up, which can also lead to limp hair, I use Essensity Clarifying Shampoo from Schwarzkopf (Disclosure: Gifted during a salon launch).

I really do notice the difference with Clarifying Shampoo because my hair does feel lighter and cleaner afterwards. But I've always wondered if using any clear shampoo will have the same clarifying effect as designer brands. Because the way I see it, product build-up happens because of the residue left behind by creamy, perfume heavy shampoos and conditioners and other hair products, so if you use a clear shampoo every now and then, shouldn't that strip off those gunky residue as effectively as expensive professional brands?

To summarize, I use the Natural Hair Mask once a week to deep condition my hair, then Epic Volume shampoo and conditioner 2x a week for added volume. Once a week, I use a clarifying shampoo to remove all residue and during the in-between days I use either Head and Shoulders or Nizoral to battle flakes.
So that's my hair story, what's yours? What products do you swear by?

Same here, not too fond with jasmine scents, either. Someone gave me that hair mask for Christmas. But I think I'll try it at least once. I do have the Epic Volume duo, however, and it's my absolute FAVORITE shampoo (and conditioner)!
I saw human heart nature (hhn) products at Rustan's Supermarket (but they're under the same company as Shopwise, so no surprise there), when I went to Watsons Makati, I think I saw some hhn products there too.
Now I'm loving Andalou Naturals Shampoo (from Healthy Options). It cleans but doesn't strip my hair and scalp of all the moisture. It functions just the way I prefer, coz I don't like to do the shampoo first and conditioner after routine.
I use Suave clarifying shampoo once a week & does the job well, so I dont think you need expensive products for this. For conditioner I use the one I got from Healthy Options (green bottle) in the lemon scent which is clarifying too. I use these two once a week. I just wish Suave has a clarifying conditioner too coz I like using pairs. :)
For clarifying shampoo, I use Neutrogena's clarifying and moisturizing variant, the clear pink liquid one.
As for my shampoo and conditioner tandem, I recently discovered Pure Beauty's shampoo and conditioner with camellia seed extract, said to be the dupe of Shiseido's Tsubaki shampoo. I rarely use shampoo and conditioner from the same brand, but I find that these work better when paired together. :)
Hi,
I currently use Human Nature Strengthening Shampoo and I'm happy with the result that it lessened my hairfall. My friend at work is also suggesting Human Nature Hair Mask in Jasmine scent but I'm having second thought because the HM body scrub in Jasmine scent that I also ordered smelled too strong. I think Human Nature should come up with milder scents of their products. Other than that, I love Human Nature products.
With regard to Bead Head styleshots, it's quite expensive for me, won't fit the budget hehehe.
Hi Aidisan!
I share your views about Bed Head being a budget buster. When my stash runs out, will have to think twice or even thrice about buying replacements because they're really quite expensive and I'm not used to splurging on high end products for my hair :(
Glad to hear the hair mask is working for you. If you don't like the jasmine scent, there is an alternate. The same hair mask from human nature also comes in rosemary. This is the one that I prefer being a dealer of human nature myself. The rosemary has the same avocado and gugo bark ingredients that the jasmine one has :) The scent of the rosemary is more minty.
Hi Aly,
Thanks for the tip! I'll try out the rosemary variant once my jasmine hair mask runs out :)
