Lately, blogging for Kikay Exchange has been more of a chore than anything. Something that I have programmed myself to do as part of my daily routine.

The excitement I used to feel when I discovered a new product or that burning need to write about something, or anything for that matter, has strangely been missing.

I definitely won't close this site anytime soon, but I want to start writing more about my personal discoveries and less about the products sent to me. I remember doing exactly this during my early years of blogging, and the great joy and excitement that it gave me while churning out each post.

And so I'll do exactly just that.

I've been struggling with the same dilemma for the past 2 years I think!  I just blog regularly for love of Laz and so I won'tforget.  But excitement?  Not quite like before.

Maybe you get more pumped about nesting?  Heehee.  I know that I personally visit Sabitskipoint regularly because I like reading your domestic adventures - more than Kikay Exchange recently, I must say!

Your blog is way better than a scrapbook, best way to remember memories :)

And you're right, I like nesting better these days than any kikay topic. Can't muster the same enthusiasm over lipstick as, say, a new wall clock:p Olds na tayo Anna!!

I think you blogging about your personal discoveries is what makes me come back to your website. :)

And it's those personal discoveries that make me happiest as a blogger :)

Thank you very much to everyone who left a comment :)

Your words of support really touched me :)

Fact is, I'm not going to stop blogging, I just needed to rediscover the fun in it. And I think I"m well on my way to that again.

I've always considered being kikay a chore, actually. I could never grasp how my more stylish friends could keep track of all their accessories and shoes and bags and girly kaek-ekan, I'm very "comfort over fashion" and if you asked me about beauty products and stuff, you'd get a "meh" response. It was only through your blog that I started to very slowly venture into trying new things, since I'm a lawyer too and I was intrigued how you found being kikay to be a respite from the seriousness of our profession. So if you're not enjoying yourself anymore, do something else for a little while. Travel. Read. Eat. It'll affect the quality of this blog if you force it.
There are lots of blogs out there about kikay stuff. I like yours because you seem to genuinely have fun and aren't so exclamatory (OMG, HG, BRANDY-BRAND NAMES!!!) or recommend products that cost the sun and the moon, and probably have to be imported from those places too.
If you're thinking of a revamp, do whatever feels right. If you want to sustain this blog for whatever reason, re-visit your primary purposes (parang corporate registration ba?) and keep the posts pointed in that direction.
Good luck. =)

This made me smile.
I can relate to you--even if I've just started writing for a little over a year. There are times when I feel the need to write just because of the stupid idea that I "have" to constantly update my blog.  I don't receive products for review nor the I aim (there's nothing wrong with that. But the mere pressure I put on myself takes the magic out of writing.
I realized that updating blogs routinely doesn't work for everyone, definitely not for me.  There's magic when I write when I'm inspired. There's a feeling of fulfillment and happiness.
Now, I don't force it anymore. I write when I feel like writing. I also observed something, when I started not having writing goals anymore (e.g., writing atleast 1 post in a week, something like that)l, for some reason, I was able to get the magic back and wrote more than I ever did when I forced myself.

And I look forward to reading more about your personal discoveries :)

I hope you find the motivation again. It will be sad to close Kikay Exchange. It has been around for what seems so long.

Perhaps it'd help if you create a more personal blog?
