Jose Garcia Villa for Freeway Art

I wasn't able to go to the Freeway Jose Garcia Villa launch because of work, so the nice people of Freeway sent me the press kit instead.

So who is Jose Garcia Villa? He's a fictionist and poet best known for his comma poems and reversed consonance. On 12 June 1973, Villa was named National Artist in Literature.

Villa and his words, are also the inspiration for the newest Freeway collection. I love the dresses.

This trenchcoat dress seems apt for the rainy season.

Tops.

Accessories.

Too cool for words right?

And what was inside the paperbag, some busybodies might ask. There was a bag, a CD, a pad of paper and some pencils. I guess this is to help unleash the Doveglions inside every one of us?

But I'm really loving the bag, hello lunch box!

I'm glad that Freeway has been doing collaborations with National Artists lately. It's a great way to introduce the work of Filipino writers into popular consciousness. I'm sure many people weren't familiar with Jose Garcia Villa and his works until this collection was launched.

Also, I want the empire dress! And the tunic!
