Let's Study in the UK!

Last January 20, immediately after work, I rushed to Murphy’s Irish Pub in Makati to take part in the British council’s Go! Campaign Launch. This campaign seeks to inform us Filipinos, that, indeed, we could study Higher Education in the UK!

The event included talks by Filipinos who had studied in UK (and mind you, were fortunate enough to be scholars). The speakers, Ronald and Richard briefly told the crowd of how British education has improved their lives, and has increased their market value. They claimed studying Britain made them better people. It broadened their horizons, taught them to ask the right questions, and made them look into details. Studying in the UK, although different, made them develop new friendships, and opened their eyes to bigger and better opportunities.

Yes, we can apply for higher education in UK’s biggest universities and colleges. The British Council will be conducting a series of events (all with free admission). There will be an Alumni counselling session, Funding Options Seminar (on February 19, 2010 at Top Shelf, Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street ), and an Education UK Exhibition (March 5-6, 2010. Edsa Shangrila Ballroom, Edsa Shangrila Hotel).

The first of the series of events will be the Alumni Counselling Session - at the Makati Shangri-La, January 29, 2010, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Friday.

The Go Campaign’s message is to keep “Your Future on Track”. The British Council’s website is www.britishcouncil.org.ph.

i want to study in the UK (or any first world country) too!

but i think more than the opportunity for higher learning, i just want to experience living in a campus and doing the whole university thing again, pero imported naman this time around.
