Post-Holiday Shopping

By Jillsabs - Posted on 26 December 2009

We went to the mall two days before Christmas to catch Avatar before the Metro Manila Filmfest began. As expected, the malls were packed with last-minute holiday shoppers, but I was surprised to see that a lot of stores were on sale that early.

The usual post-holiday sales are now held in the heat of the holiday season? Could this still be an effect of the worldwide recession?

Recession or not, check out some of the stores that are already on sale.

I usually wait with bated breath for the twice yearly Mango sale (after the holidays and mid-year), but this time, the Mango sale began almost a month early!

The Topshop sale is also something to watch out for because with the 500p gift certificate I won during our company's Christmas raffle and the 800p Christmas bonus to employees, I can probably snag something cute from the highstreet brand or at the very least, pay a little extra after surrending my GCs. (FYI Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins and Warehouse are apparently part of the JG Summit group of companies, hence, I can use my GCs there. Hooray!)

21 Forever is not the same as the popular US brand Forever 21. But I heard that Forever 21 is coming to the Philippines soon. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

More stores on sale:

And here I thought I could at least take a few weeks off from spending:p

Malls were horrendously crowded for the holiday rush. I'm glad it's almost over. As for F21 opening here next year, "Confeermed!" http://chuvaness.livejournal.com/758667.html
