Flats for Life
I tried to play the whole heels and stilettos game, but at the end of the day, my knees and feet wouldn't let me and would always insist on flats or rubber shoes. Always.

The dream is to slip my feet into a pair of French Soles or Repettos (click here for the past review) and see if they're really worth the big bucks, not including plane fare because they're not available locally. But for now, these two will have to do.
This pair from Wade (about Php800) was an emergency and unplanned purchase one lunch time at the mall to give my feet a break from my pointy toed heels.

I felt immediate relief when I kicked off my heels and slipped these on right after paying, but not for long because the footbed was not cushioned and the soles had these ridges on the side where the criss-cross thing in front was glued on.

The lining also started to give way after about a month and a half. Take note that I didn't wear this pair everyday, maybe about twice a week at most. Obviously, this wasn't a good buy :(
For my next pair of flats, I decided to spend a little bit more by buying this black patent ballerina flats from Via Venetto (Php2,100++).

First off, let me commend the very outstanding sales people in Via Venetto Alabang Town Center for being very attentive and helpful while I was deciding which pair to buy. Actually, when you think about it, they should be attentive and helpful because those are the primary (only?) requirements of their job as sales attendants right? That's why it irks me to see really rude sales attendants who have no concept of customer service.
But I digress.
The ballerina flats had very well cushioned footbeds, almost similar to my rubber shoes, but the leather was of the stiff kind so my feet had those telling red marks at the end of the day, not blisters though so thank goodness!

To date, I still have yet to find my HG pair of flats that's why it's a good thing that my office is pretty lax with the dress code and I can go in wearing jeans and rubber shoes when I don't have any court appearances or meetings. I dread to think how my feet would fare if I had to subject them everyday to closed, leather shoes :(

how to go to liliw? i've heard they have good footwear
Just bought a pair of flats from CMG. Im totally loving it. I think these are "new arrivals" and costs just P999. The flats are metallic and if Im not mistaken, are available in 3 colors. They're very comfy and stylish.
Repetto flats are available at Madison. I think they have branches at GB3 and Rockwell. :) Too expensive for me though.
Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind when I suddenly strike it rich:p
i still like the stella luna flats :) the metallic or patent ones with the black stone. either round or pointed, they are all comfy and stylish. pang harabas.
I bought a pair of flats from shoebox at 699 in rockwell. Got half a size smaller as recommended by the SA and they didn't need breaking in at all! I'm on my first trimester and I've been looking for really comfy flats to prepare for the heavier days...hehe. It's made of faux but really soft leather like material and the soles have a slight padding for extra comfort. =)
Tricia,
Maybe I'll try that half size smaller tip :)
Congratulations on the new baby!
Thanks! :) I'm having such a hard time but it's all worth it. Yah, try the half size smaller because Im really a size 7 but the 6.5 starts out to be snug fir then after wearing it once or twice, it already conforms to your actual shoe size. :) My feet have what my mom call's "kanto" because their slim and bony..hehe. So it's quite hard for me to get nice comfy flats. I'm happy with these.
My family and I went to Liliw, Laguna yesterday and bought an amazing pair of flats (pointy!). They're really comfy and stylish, in purple.:)
Liliw Laguna is such a find!
When we went there years ago, we chanced upon the shooting of "Kampanerang Kuba":p so shoes shopping and showbiz in one afternoon, talk about a full day:p
Hi Jill! I also used to wear high heels to work but at the end of the day, my calves and feet would really hurt. Now, I'm a proud flat shoes girl thanks to Grendha. Their products are so comfortable to wear, no blisters or tired feet for me. Also, I was able to find a design fit for office wear. Hope you can give it a try.
Hi Teresa,
I'll surely look out for Grendha flats :)
Maganda Tory Burch, pero mahal! Super comfy, though.
I need a new pair of generic black flats too.
havent tried these but they look comfy due to the materials.

I've always learned to invest in good shoes, so I will never go home placing ice packs on my feet again!
Hi Gracey,
That's so true, shoes are really something to spend a little extra on. I've never had to put ice packs on my feet yet, hanggang band-aids lang ako:p
I bought the perfect ballet flats from Topshop for a little over 2k and it's the most amazing flats i've ever ever had!!! Very comfy!
I had these flats, but madali ma-luma. Sayang.
Hi Vanessa,
I'll definitely check out Topshop now. Thanks for the tip!
I got flats at a stall in ATC (the tiangge-ish corner near Topshop and the Food Court) that are really comfy. No idea how long they'll last, but they're definitely worth the P500 I paid for them.
Hi Shasta,
Do you mean Shoebox?
If so, I also bought a pair from there a few years back and they were really soft but was a little too loose so they ended up chafing my heels :(
I like the garterized flats in CMG, but they do tend to dig in the heels, so they still need some breaking in, and they're really hot on the feet! So I always applied powder on my feet first before slipping them on to avoid potentially emabarassing situations:p
Not Shoebox but a stall near theirs. :)
Ooh, haven't tried flats from CMG but thanks for the valuable input!
MEG sold flats for a short time too, very, very comfy but I only use it when I'm not commuting because it gets dirty easily.
Ah, the complicated relationship of women and footwear. :)
True that:p
