The Canyon Cove Contingency
My title may lead one to imagine an exciting adventure of some sort but the opposite is actually true. While the nation was transfixed with the National Fist the other weekend, we hied off to Canyon Cove on the strength of a friend's recommendation for 24 hours of r&r. The following ensued.

There are enormous pools kids and not so kids can enjoy, and even a separate pool for condo owners, the restriction we only learned of after being informed by a nervous looking (but to his credit, quite polite) security guard. We shall therefore forever refer to the pool this next pic was taken in as 'the forbidden waters'.

Guests are mostly harrassed parents, wild kids plus yayas and a few stray foreigners, all looking to get away from it all. There weren't a whole lot fortunately, so there's still lots of spare space for everyone.

Canyon Cove is a vast property of which I assume less than 40% is actually utilized. The rest are condominuim property run down after years of non-use. While enjoying the very comfortable room, you can't help but gape and feel sorry for those large, abandoned 5 story buildings a hundred meters away, and wonder how much money was lost there.
For the most part however, Canyon Cove is a nice hideaway to spend a quiet weekend. Pluses are the worry free 40 minute drive from Tagaytay, white (but stony) beach and amenities, while minuses are minor, like the lack of slippers and a bathrobe, and the harrassed front desk. We give it a 7 out of 10. To get in touch with them, here's the link again.

Hi,
This is just to sahre with everyone the same experience I had as that of terrie. the only thing is I did'nt give in to their reason that there will be an event that's why our reservation will be moved to another date. I reserved 2 rooms for may 15-16 of this year, and this was confirmed March 2010. Makati staff even sent us confirmation letter that's why I demanded that our reservation must be on the reserved date regardless there'll be an even or what. Fuming mad, I called up batanags office only to find out that this staff from makati mistakenly booked us on another date and these"event" reason was all an excuse. The worse thing was, NOBODY FROM CANYON COVE OFFICERS, MANAGERS and even the SUPERVISOR of this inefficient staff attented to us and even ignored deliberately. Did'nt get our calls and batangas managers promised to return our call but failed to do so. JUST LIKE THAT! they ruined our vacation and most of all our schedule. and there they are, as if notheing happened. No apology until now. Whew! Nice place but.... sorry to say I won't be coming back there ever! btw, May I say that I am a prestige club member of Canyon Cove.Yes! a member and this was how they treat us... Thanks for the space.
Hi!
Just would like to share with you and i hope to many more others the experience I had with regards to Canyon Cove. We had exactly the same experience as that of terrie. The different thing only was I did'nt give in to their reason...which by the way was only an "excuse" because I found out that the true reason was the staff's inefficiency. We made reservation March of this year for May 15-16, 2010. This staff from makati office guaranteed that our booking was okay and even sent us form for confirmation butto find out that he mistakenly booked us on a different date. His first reason was the same, There will be function and our room reservation must be moved to another date, I did'nt agree with this reasons that's why I called up batangas office and I was right. The worse thing was nobody from canyon cove officers, managers attented to our complaint and completely ignored us. just like that. they ruined our vacation and schedule and left us with no apology at all.
I am disgusted what the Canyon cove people did to our 2 rooms reservation booked 2 months ago. My friends and I booked 2 rooms for April 17,2010 way ahead of time (2 months in advance)knowing that it will be diffcult to get good rooms during the summer vacation.
Only 2 days before April 17, we were informed that our reservation was bumped off because of the Accenture company outing!! And the resort people wanted us to get a 7,000+ suite good for 5 people only and they want us to pay cash. What gives! They should offer that suite to the accenture people and not give our 2 reserved rooms. We are paying customer and we should be given respect.
It only shows that Canyon Cove personnel are sloppy..and discriminating.
Hi Terrie,
You should have refused to let go of your reservation or insisted that the suite be given for the price of the two rooms you reserved. Sometimes it's best to unleash your inner biatch.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Canyon Cove, at least now people know that this sort of thing happens with them.
Hi, may i humbly request for a quotation of 20 people please include all
the ammenities and discounts. Will be having our company outing on or
before 3rd week of May 2010.
Thank you
Sincerely,

Good luck with planning your company's outing :)
I would very much appreciate this post if you could also include the overnight rates, how much the activities you availed of, etc.
Hi Anon,
Please click on the link provided for full details of the resort.
I think it's also written there that the overnight accommodations start at Php5,000.00++. We didn't try the water sports so can't comment on that.
Thanks for visiting Kikay Exchange!
