Passing By Paseo de Sta. Rosa

We were on our way to Tagaytay when we decided to stop by Paseo de Sta. Rosa to check out the outlet stores.
I admit I was a little disappointed because I wanted to see something as grand and as awe-inspiring as Woodbury Common in New York but as it was, there were only about a dozen outlet stores open in Paseo de Sta. Rosa :(

However, I could see the potential in the place as it had several buildings spread out, giving shoppers a good walk while they boost the economy. And I also spied Kanin Club too, so that's a major plus in my book.
All Flip-Flops had a 20%-30% discount on the printed Havaianas. They also shaved off about Php100-Php150 for the current styles, the same styles in malls right now. Not bad.

I wasn't impressed with the clothes in Marks & Spencer and Debenhams though, because they seemed too matronly for me while the underwear and thermals in MS were not on sale. Harumph. But Debenhams had some really cute 3 inch stacked heels on sale for Php1000++, a hefty 70% off from the original Php3000++ price tag.

I ended up buying a mohair/wool dress from Benetton for Php900++. There was actually no stand alone Benetton store, instead, it shared space with Gas and Havaiana.

As I said, the place has a lot of potential. And I'm not the only one who thinks so, because that afternoon, almost everyone in the area carried a shopping bag or two.

For now, I don't recommend going all the way to Paseo de Sta. Rosa just to check out the outlet stores because you'll probably end up disappointed too. But if you're on your way to an outing or gimmick in Tagaytay or Nasugbu, Batangas, feel free to drop by and spend an hour or so checking out the stores.

C'mon Paseo de Sta. Rosa developers! Let's see some development!
