Splashing About with Rain Skimmers

By Jillsabs - Posted on 22 July 2009

First there were Plueys, and now we have Rain Skimmers! I think I'm beginning to like the rainy season more and more :)

Rain Skimmers (Php1450) are waterproof ballet flats with full cotton lining, they kind of remind me of Crocs and Melissa shoes in that they're all waterproof. Although only the Rain Skimmers have lining.

Every online purchase of the Rain Skimmers also includes a pair of heel protectors (valued at Php200++) for long lasting comfort, in case you want to go singing and walking in the rain.

Also check out the super cute and handpainted My Brolly Umbrellas. They admittedly cost more than the average umbrella, but every purchase of My Brolly Umbrellas also means a considerable donation towards the procurement of wheelmobiles, transport for the invalid so they can go to work or school.

Since we're on the topic of rain gear, check out these Squiggle wellies (aka rain boots) from Melissa designed by Vivienne Westwood.

I saw the same pairs in Rustan's Alabang retailing for Php7,500++ a pair!! Yikes!

I didn't get to try them out because I was honestly afraid to:p Didn't even examine them closely because I was shocked with the price. I wonder if someone's actually gonna buy those Melissa boots? Oh well, what's expensive for me is probably just another person's monthly Starbucks allowance:p

Anyway, stay safe and dry everyone!

*Rain Skimmers and My Brolly Umbrellas are available at the Plueys Manila website. Rain Skimmers are also available in Luna, Serendra.

I must have those shoes! I've destroyed countless ballet flats because of the stupid flooding!

I got the Audreys! Most of my clothes are black and white, so I think it was a good choice for me. (And I blame Pluey-- they accept credit card payments so I had no choice but to get it na. Lol.)

you "must" give us a status report once you receive your skimmers :)
I'll probably try them out too when I go to serendra, I'm too phobic to buy shoes online.

Will do! I actually made the mistake of ordering size 10s (I'm a size 10 pag local shoes), and it was a good thing I managed to switch my size to a 9 before they shipped. It's what I get for being so excited when ordering, lol.

I've bought so many shoes from various stores online that I'm surprised I still do it. There are usually more hits than misses, hehe.
