As you all know, I'm on a constant quest to find the best tinted moisturizer around. I was thinking of getting Origin's Nude and Improved, but given the recent recession, I was thinking I should go easy on the spending. So, I thought I'd check out Cover Girl.

I've seen some of their makeup, and I thought it was a pretty good and reliable brand. It's a drugstore brand and is pretty much in the Maybelline price range, so I thought I'd give it a check. I did mention that I loved their Outlast All Day Lip Color, so I knew that I might find something pretty good on their counter.

So I bought the Advanced Radiance Age Defying Liquid Makeup. Initial impression: it's wonderful. Second impression: I love it. According to the Cover Girl website:

This smooth liquid foundation with an exclusive Olay Amino-Peptide Complex blends into the skin, covering fine lines and wrinkles, for radiant, beautiful coverage that actually helps give you a youthful appearance.

But though the site calls it a foundation, it's actually a lovely light product that evens out the skin without looking all cake-y and makeup-y. I hate it when people can actually tell that you're all made up, especially when you have a look that's so fake and manufactured. That's one reason why I'm not a big fan of heavy foundation. Anyway, so it's light and smells really fresh. It's easy to spread and doesn't cake, it just blends into your skin and makes you look healthier and younger.

Yes, I said younger. It's not like I'm old and wrinkly, but sometimes I feel that stress makes me look older than I really am. Saggy skin does that to you when you're tired. Of course it's always good to have good skin care than focus on makeup, but sometimes we busy girls have to choose cheats that make our lives a lot easier. Also, CG Advanced Radiance Age Defying Liquid Makeup Actually has Olay ingredients, so it protects and nourishes while still keeping your face pretty. It's actually moisturizing too, though SPF is less than 20 and it would be great if they could have more of that in there.

So upon application, I notice that my skin looks refreshed. It doesn't look made up at all, and looks as if I'm just really healthy and glowing. It's a lovely effect, seriously. It's not a completely shine-free product, but it doesn't really look oily, it's just dewy and natural looking so if you don't mind that, then you'll be fine. Light powder to set it should do.

Another thing I love it: staying power is good (it got through an entire hot summer day) but it's not hell to remove afterwards. After several days of using it, I have to say it hasn't caused any breakouts (fingers crossed), so I think it's a keeper. So if you're looking for something that will be good enough to even out your skin tone and lighten some blemishes but still be sheer enough to look natural, check out Advanced Radiance Age Defying Liquid Makeup from Cover Girl today.

@Diane - I think it's great for oily skin, as it is oil-free. Personally, I have normal-oily combination skin, and it works great for me. You will need to retouch with loose or pressed powder though. It makes pores look invisible :D

@Sam - Sorry, but I don't know if it's sold online. Anyone else got an answer?

does it minimize the appearance of pores? If you have oily skin, would you still recommend this foundation? thank's. :)
